Spannaus for Senate
October 5, 2002SUBJECT: Forget Congress ~ Stop the War!
Dear Senators and Congressmen:
Thought you'd appreciate a little more on that insane push for war, mounted by the Vulcans and others who appear to be blackmailing the current selected(not elected) Presidential incumbent.
Nancy Spannaus(candidate for Senator from Virginia) says it better than I!
Our government is on the edge of launching a war that could lead to World War III, and we are in the midst of a world depression which, because of a genocidal monetary system, is already killing millions. LaRouche is the only leader putting forward a solution, and my campaign is an effective way to support those efforts. So, join with us and really make history!
One of our top priorities, of course, must still be to stop this war. The Senate is our chance despite what the news media says. We have to hit every flank we can, and get me on the radio, TV, newspapers, along with circulating LaRouche's statements.
Today, I issued a release containing two pointed questions for Senator Warner, my opponent, who happens to be championing President Bush's pro-war resolution. I point out, as LaRouche did this week in a statement calling for the United Nations to declare President Bush insane, that the President's resolution violates the most fundamental principles of international law, including the prohibition against aggressive war which was part of the case against the Nazis at the Nuremberg Tribunal after World War II. Seven people were hung as a result of guilty verdicts in that trial. And the U.S. is going to adopt the same principle?
Please look on the website for my statement to Warner, and take my advice to send those questions to him, as your Senator, and to get other people to raise those questions of their officials, and "leaders," as well. Demand public debate, town meetings, and the like.
Second, there's the webcast we did on transportation and other infrastructure. If you missed this tremendous event, get onto my website, where it is now archived, and watchable. I think you'll enjoy it, because there was excellent dialogue, and we did have participation from other parts of Virginia, specifically Richmond and Norfolk. I very much appreciate the questions which came in, which were all serious.
We shall be doing a few copies of the video, for circulation and even putting it on local stations. I urge you to get the word around, and spread this as much as possible. The transportation issue is hot, but being dealt with in the wrong terms, except by LaRouche's program. Let us know if you want a copy.
Thirdly, our radio campaign through WTOP continues in Washington, D.C., and it is having a terrific effect. This week, we are adding two new ads, one on the depression collapse (which LaRouche correctly said would be a "horror show" in September), and one on Bush's insanity.
